Sewing Classes
If you’ve been thinking about picking up sewing, we’d love to help you get started. At Zoelee’s, our classes here in Kansas City are all about keeping things simple, practical, and of course, a lot of fun! It doesn’t matter how old you are or if you’ve ever even seen a sewing machine before.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or just want to get a bit better at what you already know, we’ll be right there to help you out every step of the way.
We really believe sewing should feel like a fun hobby, not a stressful project. That’s why our lessons are all about jumping in and getting your hands busy. You’ll walk away with real projects that you can actually wear and show off to your friends!
What can you expect in class?
We’re big believers in “learning by doing.” Our classes focus on real projects and skills you’ll actually use. You won’t just sit there and watch us, you’ll be the one making the magic happen!

- The Basics (and beyond!): We’ll cover everything from simple stitches to the fancy stuff.
- All About Fabric: Learn the secrets of working with stretchy knits, cottons, and more.
- Making Outfits: Get the hang of how clothes are put together and how to follow a pattern.
- The Best Fit: We’ll show you how to design and finish your pieces so they look just right.
- Feeling Good: You’ll definitely feel more confident after every single class!
We keep our classes pretty small on purpose, too. That way, you get plenty of one-on-one help whenever you hit a snag.

Class Schedule

Just for Teens & Pre-Teens! – Admission By Appointment – Call for Dates
Ready to explore the awesome world of sewing? In this class, you’ll learn how to make your own clothes from scratch. It’s a great way to start a new hobby and show off your personal style!
Cost: $40.00 (plus supplies)
Kwilt Kamp – June, July, & August Sessions (9:00 am – 1:00 pm)
Spend a week with us making your very own twin-sized quilt! This 5-day camp is open to both kids and adults. It’s a fun way to learn the basics of piecing and quilting while making some new friends along the way.
Cost: $175.00 (plus supplies)
Hands-on Sewing: The Basics & More – By Appointment – 2 Hour Sessions
Whatever you’re dreaming of making, we’re here to help you sew it! This class covers it all—from general construction and working with knits to swimwear and lingerie. Just let us know what’s on your project list.
Cost: $50.00 per session (plus supplies)
Fitting, Design, and Home Décor – By Appointment – 2 Hour Sessions
Do you want help in getting that perfect fit? Or maybe you want to brighten up your home with some custom decor? We’ll walk you through the professional techniques, help you pick out the right fabrics, and give you the pro-tips you need to finish your project with confidence.
Cost: $60.00 per session
Master Your Serger – By Appointment – 2 Hour Sessions
Is your serger just sitting in the box because it looks a little too scary? Don’t worry! We’ll show you how to thread it, get the tension just right, and use it for all sorts of creative projects. You’ll even put together a reference book to take home.
Cost: $60.00 per session (+$45.00 Kit Fee)
Class Policies & Fine Print
- Sign Up: Class fees must be paid in full when you register to save your spot.
- Cancellations: We don’t offer refunds, but if you let us know at least 24 hours in advance, we can reschedule your payment for a future class.
- Supplies: To make sure everyone is on the same page, please purchase your class supplies right here at our shop.
- Vibe: Our classes are a “no-phone zone” so you can relax and focus on having fun! Please leave the kiddos at home so everyone can enjoy their creative getaway.
